Changes to our service as a result of the covid-19 emergency

These have been unprecedented times for our industry sector but more importantly for the whole world.

Firstly, to those of our customers who are most affected by the current situation through forced shutdown, we hope you are all coping as well as can be expected. We are all in this together so if you think of anything we can do to help, please reach out to your account manager. We will all come out of this and rebuild our businesses stronger than before.

I’ve always known how fantastic our team are at MKG but we could not be prouder of how they have come together in this situation. We are taking all steps to make sure they are fully protected and supported as they undertake vital work at this time but their dedication and willingness to get stuck in and help has blown us away. The government support has also meant that we have been able to protect all jobs despite the massive upheaval and business change we are experiencing.

To those customers who are still operating and in particular looking after vulnerable people, please be assured, our operations are running normally for you. Our stocking levels are high and availability is excellent (including toilet rolls!). Your sites are our priority to ensure food supply is not another concern on top of everything else you have to worry about. Your efforts and work through this crisis have our utmost awe and appreciation.

Changes to Delivery Operation

We are having to make a few alterations to our service to help adjust to the current realities and also try and keep our staff safe. As such, with immediate effect and for the duration of the Covid-19 emergency, our Customer Service Department (&Telesales) will now cut off at 5pm Monday to Friday (open 9-5pm). Online ordering will remain open until 10pm though. In addition, we are removing Saturday delivery. However, this impacts very few trading customers as it is mainly a leisure and hospitality sector service.

Home Delivery

Finally, I would like to let you know that in response to government requests, last week we very quickly opened up our Home Delivery service. Given supermarket deliveries are almost impossible to access, we are now delivering to homes. Priority is given to NHS/Emergency workers and Vulnerable/Self Isolating people. Please note, we are experiencing an overwhelming number of requests but we do have plenty of capacity and stock. If you or anyone else is struggling and wants to use this, please email [email protected] visit www.mkgfoods.co.uk/home-delivery.

Please note we are currently taking 48 hours to set up accounts BUT we will then be able to get a delivery out to you 1-2 days after that.

Please all stay safe.
